19 Popular Acappella Wedding Songs

With the recent success of movies like Pitch Perfect, Acappella or vocal music has become more popular than ever.

Even though there are no guitars, drums, or other instruments like in traditional musical performances, Acappella musicians use their voices to mimic the sounds of a drum or guitar.

There are some original Acappella favorites, but for the most part, it’s more often than not an updated version of a well-known song. These Acappella wedding songs will provide a sweet way to set the mood of your wedding day and celebrate your love through music.

This ethereal cover will work well as the bride walks down the aisle or for the couple’s first dance. A wonderful song with a lovely message, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” is a beautiful tribute to your love story.

Memorbale lyrics: “Give your all to me / I’ll give my all to you / You’re my end and my beginning”

Written and performed by John Legend, “All Of Me” is a popular wedding song, and for good reason. Following in the tradition of all the best love songs, the song talks about the deep love you experience with your soulmate, despite their flaws.

The Acappella cover by The Filharmonic delivers beautiful harmonies alongside Legend’s beautiful lyrics. Consider this song as a romantic but upbeat addition to the cutting of the cake moment or when the newly-wed couple arrives at the reception.

“Hallelujah” – Pentatonix

“Perfect” – Pentatonix

Memorable lyrics: “Baby, I’m dancing in the dark, with you between my arms / Barefoot on the grass, we’re listening to our favorite song”

Another Pentatonix addition to this list, their cover of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” is a great Acappella wedding song. Their impressive harmonies provide exciting layers to this romantic song, while the waltz tempo makes it easy to dance to.

“Stay With Me” – Street Corner Symphony

Memorable lyrics: “You’re every line, you’re every word, you’re everything / You’re a carousel, you’re a wishing well”

If you are looking for a great wedding group dance song, the slow and powerful ballad “Stay With Me” will bring everyone together on the dance floor.

First popularized by Sam Smith, this version by Street Corner Symphony is as powerful with its beautiful harmonies. It’s perfect for the bride who wants to walk down the aisle with the sounds of a gospel choir accompanying her.

“Keep Us Close” – Siedd

Memorable lyrics: “You changed my life that day / And I thank The Lord / For placing a love like this in our beatin’ hearts”

With a similar tune to “Say You Won’t Let Go” by songwriter James Arthur, “Keep Us Close” by Siedd is an Acapella love song about long-distance love and the power of religious faith. If this sounds like your love story, this would be a great song to add to your special day.

“I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” – No Comment

Memorable lyrics: “But I would walk 500 miles / And I would walk 500 more / Just to be the man who walked a 1, 000 miles / To fall down at your door”

This is a great sing-along song at the best of times, originally done by the Scottish band, The Proclaimers.

While No Comment’s acapella version is slower-paced and a little moodier than the original, it’s still an excellent choice for those tender moments at a wedding, like the first dance, or lighting of the unity candle.

“(Everything I Do) I Do It For You” – Julia Westlin

Memorable lyrics: “Look into my eyes / You will see what you mean to me / Search your heart, search your soul / And when you find me there, you’ll search no more”

Another 90s classic, “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”, is a heartwarming and dramatic song. Initially performed by Bryan Adams, this song is a powerful declaration of love.

The Acappella version by Julia Westlin would be an excellent choice for the lighting of the unity candle or for the procession of the wedding party.

“Stand by Me” – Julia Westlin

Memorable lyrics: “If the sky that we look upon / Should tumble and fall / Or the mountain should crumble to the sea / I won’t cry, I won’t cry / No, I won’t shed a tear / Just as long as you stand, stand by me”

Originally performed by Ben E. King, this song has a swing rhythm that makes you want to snap your fingers and tap your feet.

This makes this tune a great choice to lure guests of all ages onto the dance floor. It’s such a popular choice, it was even included at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018.

“From This Moment On” – Shania Twain

Memorable lyrics: “I give my hand to you with all my heart / I can’t wait to live my life with you I can’t wait to start  /You and I will never be apart / My dreams came true because of you”

It’s the perfect song to perform as the couple walk down the aisle as Mr and Mrs, or for the first dance.

This beautiful ballad was made famous by singer, songwriter, and legendary guitarist Eric Clapton in the 70s. The Acappella version by Nino & the Ebb Tides gives this song a doo-wop sound that really works. If you’re having a cool, retro wedding, it’s a must-have on your playlist.

“You Raise Me Up” – BYU Vocal Point

Memorable lyrics: “You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains / You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas / I am strong when I am on your shoulders / You raise me up to more than I can be”

This stirring and powerful ballad will lend a dramatic emotion to your wedding ceremony, perfect for filling a cathedral or other grand space. The original version was performed by contemporary classical powerhouse Josh Groban and his world-famous baritone voice.
