Hey there! My name is Jessica Woods, but you can call me Jess. I’m a commercial photographer who loves to capture love. I believe every love is unique and deserves its own story. But before I can capture your story, I want to be your friend! Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, spent celebrating a love that’s brought two people together. You surround yourself with those who support you, who support your happiness. I want to be your supporter. I want to know how you met, who takes out the trash, what you want in your future, and what makes your love yours. I want you to know there’s someone to help you. I want you to be comfortable with me and my camera, so on your wedding day I’m just another friend helping you into your dress, or pinning the boutonnière to your suit.
I tell your story by capturing real, candid, joyful, and intimate moments. Your session or wedding should be a fun experience; one that you’ll always remember. Not only do I want you to have fun, but in 50 years I want you to look back on your photos and see the happiness radiate through. I want you to relive those moments!
Growing up next to a state park, I have a deep appreciation for natural light and beautiful locations. I’ve been to Europe multiple times, I’ve seen 19 different National Parks, and my heart yearns to see it all. Want to get married in a National Park? Let’s go. Want to get married in your parent’s backyard? I’m there. Want to get married in the church you grew up in? Count me in. Your story is unique, and not every story features a mountain top.
In my free time you can catch me hanging out with my husband (Ry), cuddling with my puppies, reading Stephen King, binging Netflix, or training for a marathon. In addition to shooting, I freelance as photo assistant, retoucher, and digital tech at studios. I received my bachelor’s degree in Commercial Photography from Ohio University’s Scripps College of Communication, in the School of Visual Communication.
