You can choose from Oceanfront, Swim Out, Meditation, and Family Suites here. A King Suite with a Bathtub is a great mid-range choice, and when I checked prices before the high season, the flexible rate started at $908 per night.

Budget-Friendly All-Inclusive Resorts in Playa del Carmen
As a whole, vacations in Mexico offer tremendous affordability, so if you’re on a tighter budget, you can still get a lot of “bang for your buck” at a resort in Playa del Carmen.
While keeping your expectations low at a budget-friendly property in Riviera Maya is probably a good idea, the tradeoff on a less glamorous budget vacation is more vacation dollars to spend shopping or dining in town.
We found a decent 4-star resort close to town and a Riu resort that claims to be 5-star at fairly reasonable prices!
Hotel Riu Yucatan
The Hotel Riu Yucatan is a luxurious resort nestled along the pristine shores of Playa del Carmen, Mexico. With its vibrant Mexican-inspired architecture and lush tropical gardens, the hotel offers a captivating blend of elegance and relaxation.
With nearly 9,000 traveler reviews and a 4.5 rating, the 24-hour all-inclusive Hotel Riu Yucatan bills itself as a 5-star with attractive rates beginning at $215 per night in mid-season (prices flexible and subject to change).
Honest reviewers beware other travelers that this property is older, and many rooms aren’t the top-notch suites you’ll find at countless other properties up and down Riviera Maya.
However, the reviews on the buffet and theme restaurants are generally good, and the beach is rated as outstanding.
If you like to see exotic animals like birds and monkeys reasonably close up, you’re in for a treat at this Riu because the non-threatening wildlife is free to roam around the property! The Reef Coco Beach
The Reef Coco Beach is a charming beachfront resort nestled along the pristine shores of Playa del Carmen in Mexico. With its laid-back atmosphere and lush tropical surroundings, the resort offers a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
This beachfront, family-friendly resort offers good amenities and easy access to town.
Reef Coco Beach offers four restaurants, including a Japanese Teppanyaki style with showcase chefs, and there is also a cafe and two bar areas. You will also get exchange privileges to enjoy the Reef Playacar resort nearby.
There’s a tennis court and fitness room here, and the outdoor pool with a swim-up bar is pretty popular!
Rooms at the Reef Coco Beach feature poolside or partial ocean views, but the resort does make a point online of stating that it is not wheelchair accessible.
Current room prices range from $229 to $289 for a one-night stay before high season.
