For an additional price, guests can take part in a mixology master class and UNICO yoga. Located about 30 minutes from Tulum, Barcelo Maya Riviera really is Disneyland for adults. There are 8 pools, day and night tennis courts, a luxury spa complex, 16 restaurants, 4 gourmet restaurants, 1 buffet, and countless bars. Our favorite is the Pool Bar, which is located by the massive infinity pool – the largest in the Riviera Maya.
Featuring 850 rooms with hot tubs and terraces, this adults-only resort is also one of the largest along the Riviera Maya coast. Over 100 of the room types also come with private pools. In terms of entertainment, guests can dance until the wee hours in a nightclub, go bowling, scuba dive, watch shows in 3 theaters, participate in themed nights, and join numerous parties.
Room highlight: the elegant Ocean Front Premium Level Junior Suite comes with a large balcony, an outdoor hot tub, a mini-bar, and plenty of space.
Bahia Principe Grand Tulum

Located along a huge stretch of white sand beach, Bahia Principe Grand Tulum is one of the top-rated resorts in Tulum. It offers a variety of inclusions that appeal to families, such as a Teens Club with an arcade, a Kids Club, a kid-friendly waterpark, and an outdoor exploration space modeled after the famed Mayan ruins.
Couples will love the tranquil spa and massage cabanas on the beach (the Mayan chocolate massage is decadent). Former guests appreciate the excellent service and the pristine condition of the beach. However, some guests recommend making sure you understand exactly what is included in the “all-inclusive” cost of stay. For example, guests can access the buffet for all meals, but can only book 3 dinners per week at the á la carte restaurants.

You can also take a bicycle along the beaches or explore the sites in Tulum. While there is no sandy beach in front of the resort, the pool area is large and offers many sun loungers.
Most of the rooms come with a jacuzzi and are quite spacious. However, although the rooms are clean and well maintained, they haven’t been renovated in a while. There are 2 restaurants that offer gourmet dining (ranging from Pan-Asian to Mexican) as well as a creperie and 2 elegant bars.

Catalonia Royal Tulum

In terms of dining, Tequila Restaurant is our favorite. Here you can enjoy traditional Mexican fare in a vibrant, fun setting. Frutos del Mar Seafood Restaurant offers amazing grilled seafood and coconut shrimp is delicious.
Room highlight: the Junior Suite Deluxe Ocean Front includes a hydromassage bath, and a terrace with gorgeous views, and is in an adults-only section of the resort.
Bahia Principe Grand Coba

In terms of dining, guests receive 3 Ã la carte dinners in restaurants per week. Our favorite restaurant is Gran Tortuga, which serves Brazilian-style grilled meats with stunning sea views.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya

There are 3 pools in total, but the Main Pool is our favorite. Its prime, beachfront location provides unending views of the sea and white sand. It also features a swim-up bar and a chic design that seamlessly blends in with the environment.
As part of the World of Hyatt, this resort caters to luxury-minded travelers who value service, cleanliness, and privacy. Although Secrets has 434 suites, it doesn’t feel like the superstore of resorts. Instead, you can enjoy the attention to detail put into the landscaping and sophisticated interior design. Guests can upgrade to the Preferred Club, which includes access to exclusive areas throughout the resort, premium rooms, and concierge services.
Room highlight: the Romance Master Suite Ocean View has incredible views of the waves, a private plunge pool on the balcony, and a 2-person hot tub.
Bahia Principe Sian Ka’an

As you sit on your balcony, you’ll feel like you’re perched in a treehouse, hidden in the branches.
The resort offers 4 pools, 4 restaurants, 5 bars, a high-end spa, a fully equipped gym, and access to Riviera Maya Golf Club (it’s one of the best courses in Mexico). It’s also a great place to experience the resort’s signature Fiesta Mexicana, take dance lessons, take a cooking class, or simply relax on the beach.
