The Legacy at Green Hills

Starting our list is The Legacy at Green Hills with its 40 acres of mature trees, meadows, and wildflowers.

The outdoor ceremony site is a beautiful 32-foot patio with a flower-covered pergola, and the climate-controlled open-air pavilion makes the perfect reception spot.

The Legacy at Green Hills also has a historic house on the property with three bedrooms and three bathrooms that you and your wedding party can rent for a destination wedding!

Bonus: There is a firepit on the side of the patio for a cozy and intimate vibe.

One of the premier outdoor wedding venues in Kansas City is Powell Gardens. As part of the KC Botanical Gardens, there are a plethora of unique and beautiful garden settings to choose from for your big day.

The Missouri Barn is in the Heartland Harvest area of Powell Gardens. This rustic setting has an observation deck with amazing views of the entire area. Consider The Fountain Garden and Marlese Lower Gourley Island Garden also.

The Brim

The Brim is one of the newest outdoor wedding venues in Kansas City.

Located on 16 acres atop a hill, just a short drive outside the city, The Brim has undeniably amazing sunsets. But, the most unique aspect of this venue is that you can rent the venue for only $1!

The mission of the owners was to make sure fabulous Kansas City wedding venues were affordable and accessible to all couples. How cool is that?!

Of course, you can still add on all the bells and whistles for your full-service wedding with packages if you’d like.

You can choose to have your reception in The Brim Chapel or outside on the property in a white event tent.

In addition, The Brim has announced that they are building a new reception space that should be completed by June 2023. Stay tuned for details!

Last but not least, we present The Alexander Majors House and Barn.

This historic mansion estate is owned by a non-profit and is open to the public as a museum. Constructed in 1856, The Alexander Majors House & Barn was once the home of one of the co-owners of the Pony Express and has a colorful past.

There is a large manicured lawn that can be utilized for your vows. There is also a barn on the property with a loft for your rustic yet sophisticated reception.

Finally, there is another space to the south of the main barn area called the Wagon Room, complete with an authentic Conestoga wagon!
