Deer Park Manor

The 1950s was an era of unparalleled economic growth in the U.S. The very mention of the decade conjures up images of big flashy cars, perfect suburban homes, and perfectly put-together housewives in stunning full-skirted dresses, their outfits complete with matching handbags, heels, and delicate little gloves.

One thinks of high school sweetheart marriages where devoted; adoring husbands carried innocent, blushing brides over the threshold of a new home into a perfect life of domestic bliss.

You can bring that vintage 1950s glamor to your wedding by hosting it at the historic Deer Park Manor.

Built in 1953, Deer Park Manor has hosted many influential people, including two U.S. presidents. The park and its grounds are an idyllic site for your outdoor wedding.

The park is home to deer, foxes, wildflowers, and other local flora and fauna. Your outdoor wedding can take place in the field amidst lush, manicured gardens, or you can use one of two patios.

After the ceremony, you can take photos at the ponds, on the walking paths, and in the gardens. Since the rental includes using the manor, you’re free to take in the lavish manor house itself.

If you choose to remain outdoors for the reception, there is room to set up an events tent outside.

You have the option to select your own caterer and DJ, as well as provide your own liquor, or you can choose from Deer Park’s preferred vendors.

Pricing: $2,500 – $4,000

Capacity: 175 guests.

Find Deer Park Manor at Deer Park Manor, or check out Facebook.

After the wedding, there are endless photo opportunities across the farm. You can take pictures in fields of colorful flowers or time your photographs to capture the sunset or sky blanketed with stars.

After your wedding ceremony and pictures are done, you can start the reception in your barn of choice and take advantage of the breezeway dance floor to dance the night away.

Choose your own caterer, DJ, and other vendors to work with one from Sycamore’s preferred vendor list. Either way, the choice is yours. Sycamore Farms is a blank canvas upon which any couple can paint their dream wedding.

Whippoorwill Hill

The barn at Whippoorwill Hill is just a little bit special. Originally built in 1892, this particular barn has been taken apart, moved across the state, and reassembled. Preserving a century-old barn is quite a feat, making this particular outdoor wedding venue unique.

This old barn made new has everything we love about using a barn to host weddings: the beautiful timber, the high ceilings, the wide open space, and the neutral wood. Whippoorwill Hill, however, has a history and heritage that you can feel, along with the love and care that has gone into reconstructing it.

If you have your wedding at Whippoorwill, in addition to this storied barn, you’ll also have access to the grounds for photos and, of course, your reception.

Renting Whippoorwill Hill for your wedding includes uses of the barn and grounds for both wedding and reception, decorations, chairs, onsite support, your choice of vendors, fire pits, and restrooms.

Capacity: 300 guests.

Cost: $2,952 – $5,950
