Offering the kind of rustic elegance you can only find in the Lone Star State, Texas Rock House is a Hill Country gem. Located in San Marcos, this venue is laidback with a vintage feel.

Longhorn cattle graze by the fences, next to vintage trucks, and cowboy hats are encouraged. The 1940s Rustic Barn is artfully weathered and features a dance floor, bistro lighting, dining tables with chairs, an attached deck, and ceiling fans. This indoor space is perfect for a country-style reception with a good dose of dancing.

In terms of outdoor options, your wedding guests will love the Outdoor Ceremony Site, which includes wooden benches, a flower garden, plenty of lawn space, and the chance to feed the farm animals.

If you are considering an affordable wedding weekend in Central Texas, then Magnolia Ranch is the place for you. Magnolia Ranch has all of the ranch-style elements we love for a fraction of the cost when compared to other wedding locations.

The owners believe weddings should be affordable and are very upfront about their prices and they make sure that your venue rental fee comes with lots of extras.

For example, it includes exclusive use of the entire place, table linens in over 40 different colors, over 200 pieces of décor you can browse, a bridal suite, fire pits, and overnight accommodation (when you book the full weekend rental for $4,500).

The climate-controlled barn has over 3,000 square feet of reception space and the hilltop gazebo makes a great outdoor ceremony site. If you have a large guest list, this venue is a great choice for you.

The Farmstead is similar to an open-air pavilion and has modern details that blend seamlessly with the entire Victorian aesthetic. The property also features lush gardens, heritage trees, and expansive lawns fully at your disposal.

Beauty and the Beach

This is the best affordable, oceanfront wedding venue in Texas. Nestled along the sandy coastline at Crystal Beach, this Gulf Coast getaway was designed to host outdoor events on the beach and grassy lawns. You can even put your chairs on the sand!

A functional, wooden lighthouse painted white and blue adds coastal charm and the sweeping views of the sea will blow you away. The venue is secluded and features amenities such as a beachfront ceremonial pergola, a dance floor, a tiki bar, a fully-stocked kitchen, a covered outdoor reception area, and private beach access.

You must book the house for at least 2 nights via VRBO (it’s usually around $460 per night). Then, you can pick a wedding package of your choice, ranging from small DYI weddings to full-service weddings.

Ronin Art House

Located in downtown Houston’s Warehouse District, Ronin Art House is actually 3 separate venues at 3 different addresses. However, Ronin 2 is our favorite. This trendy, industrial space is the perfect wedding venue for couples with a smaller guest list.

The indoor reception venue is brightly lit by natural light streaming in through the arched entryway and glass skylights. Exposed wood beams, brick walls, and concrete floors add to the warehouse atmosphere and create a blank canvas setting.

You can bring your own caterers, which definitely keeps costs down, but all alcoholic beverages must be served by the venue’s preferred vendor.

Typical Cost: from $1,100 for full-day rentals Monday to Thursday

Capacity: up to 75 standing guests or 50 seated guests at Ronin 2

Little Wren Weddings & Events

This quaint country chapel features a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony site and is a simply darling choice located just outside of Dallas, in Rockwall. Even though the venue is small, there are both indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Chapel is picture-perfect and features white shingles on the outside, simple white pews, arched ceilings with wooden beams, and tiled floors. The Garden cannot be tented due to the powerlines; however, it’s a beautiful space for an outdoor reception and well shaded by the trees. It can also be converted into an outdoor ceremony site.

The rental fee includes the use of the bridal cottage, the groom suite, tables and chairs, pews, and the kitchen. You also get 1 hour to take bridal or engagement photos.

Capacity: up to 64 guests in the chapel and 99 guests in the garden

The Sanctuary Event Space

If you’re looking for a wedding venue with a backyard feel, you’ll love the Sanctuary Event Space. Located in Austin, this event space has several great offerings: the Studio, the Cottage, the Outdoor Grounds, and the Loft and Tree Top Balcony.

The Outdoor Grounds can host fairytale ceremonies with an iron ceremonial arch and winding ivy making it all the more romantic. Shaded beneath a huge oak tree, the ceremony site is terraced and has 2 separate seating areas.

Sanctuary Space is a non-profit that supports the Amala Foundation, offering leadership training to young people in Texas and around the world.

This warehouse setting is located in the Blue Star Arts Complex, in San Antonio. The event center can only be described as multi-use and is a flexible space for hosting art events, corporate functions, and weddings, too.

The main venue showcases 2 vintage crystal chandeliers that are simply jaw-dropping – the kind of decorations that would send your wedding costs through the roof if you rented them yourself.

The basic rental rate includes access to the main warehouse, the staging area, the lobby, and, of course, the restrooms. Do keep in mind that you must buy beer and wine through the venue’s preferred vendor so this is something to think about when you factor in costs.

Second, you can have a ceremony, a ceremony with a reception, a micro-wedding, or an elopement indoors or outdoors. Rosine Hall is the largest reception location with a maximum capacity of 500 guests, while DeGolyer Loggia is better suited for up to 100 guests and features a brick patio with a stunning lake view.

Lastly, the rental prices are excellent and beautiful landscaping makes an unforgettable setting for any wedding.

Surrounded by pastures, the barn itself is made in a more contemporary style with high ceilings, ring chandeliers, and clean-cut lines. A long country road leads to the ranch and makes you want to take your time.
