1940 Air Terminal Museum

This is the perfect venue for air travel enthusiasts or couples looking for something different on their wedding day. Even if you are not fascinated by vintage planes, you will love the Art Deco architecture, which elevates the entire event space.

Although this is not an all-inclusive wedding venue, you can keep costs down by bringing your own alcohol and hiring a caterer of your choosing.

Included in the rental fee is full access to the museum, a chance to see the airplanes, the assistance of the venue manager, 4 hours of setup time, and the use of furniture.

Typical Cost: from $3,000 to $5,000 for the venue rental

Capacity: up to 160 guests

River Oaks Garden Club Forum of Civics and Gardens

Built in 1910, this outdoor wedding venue features historic gardens filled with beautiful trees, azaleas, lush hedges, and, of course, oak trees.

While the private gardens are beautiful settings for an outdoor ceremony, the Forum of Civics Building is a popular wedding venue for couples who want to stay away from the hot sun.

Originally a school, this event facility has several meeting rooms and a beautiful bridal suite.

Keep in mind the price does not include rentals such as round tables, Chiavari chairs, or others, so you will have to budget accordingly.

Station 3

If you are not in the market for a rustic wedding venue and looking for something more exciting, Station 3 is the place for you.

This fire station was built in 1903 and has become one of the trendiest, industrial chic wedding venues in the Houston Area. You can even slide down the fire pole!

This 2-story building has 14-foot high ceilings, an open plan design, a courtyard, and a prep area.

The rental fee includes the use of the entire building, tables and chairs, a 60-car parking lot, and a huge inventory of decorations.

Typical Cost: form $3,000

Capacity: up to 150 guests (however, it’s better for smaller events)

Oak Atelier

If you love a modern yet romantic wedding aesthetic and want a great backdrop for your photos, then Oak Atelier is a perfect fit.

Located about 40 minutes from the heart of Houston, in the Woodlands area, Oak Atelier is a stunning photo studio that also hosts intimate gatherings, bridal showers, dinners, and small ceremonies.

The are 4 airy and bright studio spaces, but the Willow is our favorite.

This building is constructed of glass and has 17-foot ceilings, translucent, gauze curtains, and delicate chandeliers.

Nestled in a grove of trees, you will stay cool even though the Willow is not climate-controlled.

Typical Cost: from $1,800 for use of the full space for 12 hours with amenities

Capacity: up to 50 guests

Cotton Gin No. 116

Situated just 40 minutes away from Downtown Houston, in Brookshire, Cotton Gin No. 116 is a historic cotton gin with all the modern amenities you need.

The venue itself has some of the most beautiful wood details we’ve ever seen. Think hardwood floors, entryways, and stunning beam work.

There is also a large garden area and a courtyard with a stone patio that make beautiful outdoor ceremony sites.

One of the reasons this is such a gem of a cheap wedding venue is that all of the extras are provided at no additional charge.

For example, the dance floor, ceremony arches, decorations, round tables, chairs, antique wooden bar, and venue setup and teardown are all included in the rental fee.

Ronin 2 by Ronin Art House

Ronin Art House manages 3 unique event spaces (and the fourth will be opening soon); however, Ronin 2 is the best choice for couples seeking a smaller venue.

Located in Houston’s Downtown Warehouse District, this industrial space offers exposed brick walls, large skylights, and an outdoor patio with an arched canopy.

It is a blank canvas-type space so you will need to provide your own decorations. But, if you are seeking simplicity, then you will need very little to make this place pop.

Pro tip: you can bring your own caterers, but the venue requires you to use their bartending vendor so check to make sure this is a good fit for you.

Typical Cost: from $1,050 for rentals Monday to Thursday and $1,550 for rentals Friday or Sunday

AvantGarden

Located in the Montrose area of Houston, AvantGarden is a bar and lounge famous for its live music and art shows. They also host fabulous weddings.

If your dream wedding involves hanging out with all of your friends without too much formality plus a fun theme or a taco truck, you will fit right in at AvantGarden.

The venue itself is a two-story house with a big outdoor patio, 2 indoor bars, and tons of vintage furniture. The home was originally constructed in 1896 and feels both homely and spacious enough so you do not feel crowded.

In the past, they’ve hosted “Circus Sideshow” themed weddings and traditional, elegant affairs. The sky is truly the limit here!

Pelazzio Reception Venue

If you are looking for an affordable wedding venue in Houston with all-inclusive packages, then Pelazzio Reception Venue is the place for you.

This Westchase event center offers several different ballrooms, including the Grand Ballroom and the Tuscany Ballroom.

The most popular space is the Grand Ballroom, featuring high ceilings decorated with filmy drapery, chandeliers, and a wide staircase perfect for making a dramatic entrance.

It is smaller than the Tuscany Ballroom and a much better choice for more intimate weddings.

It is important to note that this venue does not offer outdoor spaces for the ceremony.

Located 40 minutes to the north of Downtown Houston, in Cypress, Lindsay Lakes is an elegant wedding venue with a good dose of country charm.

With over 21 acres of grounds, it is the ideal location for outdoor weddings.

Our favorite outdoor venue is the Lakeside, which features a romantic gazebo overlooking water and acres of manicured lawns. The lake is home to multicolor koi and has four stunning waterfalls that look beautiful in wedding photos.

This gorgeous venue also has a great indoor reception space and a lovely bridal cottage with its own garden and wall-length mirrors.

Pro tip: keep rental costs low by reserving a weekday date or sticking to a ceremony-only package.

Mara Villa

From intimate weddings to huge celebrations, Mara Villa offers packages to fit every guest list at an affordable price.

However, the prices for weddings with under 50 guests are especially good.

Located just outside of Houston, in Katy, this one-stop-shop wedding venue can provide catering, photography, and florals for your convenience.

Your wedding guests will love taking pictures in the mirrored photo booth and you will enjoy the easy and convenient planning.

The elegant reception hall features chandeliers, white-washed walls, Chiavari chairs, and ivory accents throughout the place.

Most wedding packages include 4 and half hours of event time plus access to the site 4 hours before your event begins.

George Ranch Historical Park

Founded in 1824, George Ranch Historical Park is an educational center in Richmond that also hosts unbelievable private events.

While some of the venues are huge and can host up to 3,500 people, others are small and perfect for little weddings.

The Treehouse Yard is a whimsical space that can only accommodate 20 people in the actual treehouse. However, the surrounding yard and gardens can accommodate up to 200 people.

The Beasley Chapel is a classical, white church perfect for a traditional wedding ceremony with up to 100 guests. Built in 1910, the chapel still has a functional bell that you can ring after you say “I do”.

Capacity: up to 20 guests in the treehouse and 200 guests in the Treehouse Yard

Sterling Banquet Hall

Sterling Banquet Hall is actually three different venues in three different locations. While the event spaces are technically large, we’ve included them on this list because they are smaller than many banquet halls in the area.

Venue 1 is the most popular option because it has an on-site chapel and a convenient location along Beltway 8 in Houston.

Hosting over 500 weddings every year, this venue has tons of experience and can easily connect you with vendors to match your tastes and budget.

Sterling Banquet Hall allows you to stock your own alcohol at the bar so this is another great way to keep wedding costs down.
