Austin Public Library

Library venues are perfect for couples who share a love of the written word, but the Austin Public Library is a double dose of awesome!

This 200,000-square-foot space boasts a three-story atrium and plenty of modern amenities.

Most couples host their wedding on the library’s rooftop garden, a whimsical space that features vibrant flowers, oak trees, and other local foliage. There’s also a deck and an indoor seating area — just in case the weather betrays you.

For your reception, you can use the Special Event Center, an indoor/outdoor space with large windows, which allow plenty of natural light. It also boasts panoramic views of Lady Bird Lake.

Most rentals include the ceremony and reception space, and any existing furniture (as the library allows limited outside decor and furniture). Catering packages, which must be bought through the library, are extra.

Note: All rooftop garden weddings must happen after business hours, and only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Price Range: $300 – $2,700, depending on chosen space.

Capacity:  Up to 475 guests

Depending on your wedding package, rentals can include the event space, an event planner, sound equipment, and a projector.

Start your day by taking wedding photos at the home’s stately entrance, marked by stone columns and canopied trees.

You can then exchange vows outside on the property’s expansive waterfront terrace, which kisses the San Gabriel River.

After you’ve cemented your commitment to each other, head inside The Hall with its high ceilings and gorgeous views of the property.

If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Austin that combines natural splendor with the Texas traditions of yesteryear, then Texas Old Town might be the wedding venue for you.

A popular venue among Austin residents (and visitors alike), this unique space sits on 55 acres and offers several indoor and outdoor spaces to host all of your wedding festivities.

But before we dig into the venue details, just know that you have to carve out time to take wedding photos along the sprawling property, with the rustic buildings, flanked by greenery, serving as your backdrop.

Most couples hold their ceremony at The Red Bud Cottage, a charming space where couples can exchange vows surrounded by old-growth oak trees and local foliage.

This particular venue features a cedar pergola that marks the altar. There is also an accompanying indoor space just in case the weather doesn’t hold up.

For your reception, you can either bask in the natural beauty of the property, or you can head indoors and dine and dance in a versatile event space that you can dress up or down.

Depending on the wedding package you choose, your rental can include up to four hours of access to the ceremony and reception spaces, bride and groom suites (for all of your wedding prep), and basic wedding supplies such as tables and chairs.

You also have the option to book outside vendors.

A non-profit organization, One World Theatre’s mission is to educate and unite local citizens through productions and other cultural performances.

However, this picturesque space also doubles as a wedding venue, and what a venue it is! Inspired by a Tuscan-style Villa, One World Theatre offers a dreamy backdrop to all of your wedding festivities.

Start your day off right by taking wedding photos on the aptly-titled Romeo and Juliet Balcony, an outdoor space that overlooks the Austin hillside.

Your ceremony can take place at several locations, including the One World Performance Theatre, a 2,000-square feet indoor space that’s perfect for grand productions. You also have the option of a quaint rooftop ceremony, overlooking the entire property.

For your reception, you can choose between the terrace, which boasts gorgeous stone features and foliage, or the Grand Piazza, a tented venue that protects you from the elements but doesn’t obscure views of the gorgeous property.

Two special perks of getting married at One World Theatre are the private dressing rooms and spa services available.

Depending on the wedding package you choose, your rental can include five hours of event space, full use of the onsite theatre and reception spaces, a private suite, and dressing room, and standing wedding supplies (tables, chairs, etc).

Zilker Botanical Garden

When you first think of Texas, you might not necessarily imagine a lush landscape full of gorgeous flowers, towering trees, and gentle flowing streams. However, Texas’s geography is pretty diverse, which allows for beautiful green spaces to thrive.

One such space is the Zilker Botanical Garden, a 28-acre garden space that displays and celebrates both local and international garden practices. Here, you’ll walk among lush lawns, water features, and of course, vibrant blooms and foliage.

As for weddings, The Mabel Davis Rose Garden is a popular ceremony space. A long, meandering pathway, flanked on both sides by stone features and verdant grass, greets you at the entrance, making it the perfect spot for a bridal procession.

You can also wed in the Taniguchi Japanese Garden, a scenic nod to Japanese horticulture. It features Japanese maple trees, koi ponds, and a bamboo grove.

Of course, this venue space overflows with places that would make great backdrops for your wedding photos, so you’ll want to take advantage of that!

If you and your partner share a love of fine art (as much as you love snagging a good deal), then The Contemporary Austin – formally the Austin Art Museum, might suit your needs. This space exudes an elegant charm for a fraction of the price you’d pay at similar venues.

Whether you’re in the market for a traditional ceremony, elopement, or even a vow renewal, this historic venue has you covered.

The Austin branch of the museum allocates its Jones Center for weddings and other festivities. It’s a grand indoor/outdoor space that’s perfectly suited to take on whatever theme you may like.

Ideally, you’d exchange your vows on the cozy rooftop patio, as you overlook the Austin skyline. This space features an open-air canopy, romantic seating, and the necessary equipment to host presentations (if you so choose).

For your reception, consider The Community Room, a long rectangular space that’s perfect for a sit-down dinner.

The best thing about this venue is that it can easily provide lodging for any out-of-town guests (or for yourselves if you just need to get away).
